IAM Event: Annual Meeting of Movers

Our Business Development Manager, Neofytos Yiangou attended the IAM’s 60th Annual Meeting & Expo, where he had meetings with attendees from all over the world.

As a prominent player in an ever-changing industry, we are always keen to keep abreast of any new developments and to forge new friendships and partnerships with other businesses in the sector, from all over the globe. As a worldwide operation, good, strong relationships with our global partners are so important to ensure every single move we undertake is the best it can possibly be. We rely on our network of worldwide partners and so it’s vital to us that everyone we work with has the same dedication to high levels of service as we do. That’s just one of the reasons why attending the IAM Annual Meeting of Movers is so important to us, so once again we headed to Atlanta, USA for the IAM’s 60th Annual Meeting and Expo

These are difficult times for all industries, so it was great to get together to discuss the problems facing our particular industry and talk through potential solutions and further collaborations. The event was a great way to hear everyone’s news, meet new players in the sector, and catch up with some old friends too. As always, attending this annual meeting was incredibly useful and we also had a great time, so we pass on our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in organising this event.

Our Business Development Manager, Neofytos Yiangou attended the event and had some excellent meetings with other attendees from all over the world. He met with representatives of moving businesses and related services from countries such as the USA, UAE, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, Spain, Greece, Italy, Turkey, the UK, China, Russia, and France.

As well as the ideal networking opportunities, there were also some fascinating and insightful talks. We heard about the latest developments for implementing electronic inventories, the latest updates on the ocean shipping reform act, and how best to safely transport lithium-ion batteries. Perhaps not the most thrilling topics for our customers, but definitely compelling listening for those of us in the industry! However, it wasn’t all work and no play, we also found time to relax and attend some fun social events too.

This is the 10th time that Columbia Worldwide Movers has attended the IAM’s annual meeting in the USA. As a long-standing member of the IAM we feel it’s an essential part of our year. Not only does it help us to build and strengthen relationships with our worldwide partners, but it’s wonderful to come away from the event with enthusiasm and more great ideas for the future. From implementing new technologies and streamlining moving processes, to ideas for enhancing our customer service, we’re always looking for ways to offer the very best to all our customers.

We had an amazing time; we were kept incredibly busy and managed to pack so much into a few short days. Again, let us reiterate our thanks to everyone involved, both the organisers and all those who took the time to attend and meet up with us. We certainly look forward to seeing all our friends and colleagues at the next event. See you next year!
